Motorcycle protection clothing is always a must. This also includes motorcycle suits as well. Reason being suits offer protection in case of a fall; because they are to a large extent have armor protection to offer for knees, back, elbows, shins, shoulders, hips so, you can also put on your work clothes, put a riding suit over your work clothes in about 30 seconds, drive to work in pretty much any temperature whether rain or shine, and get there in civilized shape. It would take about maximum 30 seconds to remove the riding suit.

Industry of motorcycle clothing has really gone advanced during the past few years with progress in manufacturing techniques, materials and product development and there are almost no more bikers being conservative buyers. Leather used to be the only material for motorcycling clothing in past but now a choice of materials including Cordura is very popular and high in demand. This material is lighter than leather making racing suits more comfortable whilst riding and are also far better for protection against the cruel cold or burning hot weather conditions. D600 Cordura material has fantastic anti abrasion and wear and tear properties.

Cordura racing suits are a good choice. As a matter of fact Cordura enjoy the high wear and tear resistance and is good to keep rider safe from harsh weather conditions. Also these textile garments dry out much faster than leathers so when touring, clothing made from these materials are a good idea.

Cordura riding suits are made of 1.0 mm thick perforated cowhide leather and D600 poly Cordura. This combination reduces the overall weight by half for this suit. Pre-curved sleeves with stretchable Kevlar for proper riding position are also an important feature of these suits. Dual stitched seams with nylon stitching add durability. These Cordura suits are perforated in sleeves as leather is notoriously hot in summers. Stretchable Kevlar at crotch, inner arms, behind knees and lower half of legs for perfect fit and ease of movement. Strong YKK zippers all over the suit are used..

Cordura material keeps rider warm when needed but also allow vents in the design of the garment to let in air when it is burning hot outside. Also these textile garments dry out much faster than leathers so when touring, clothing made from these materials are a good idea

Fitting issue must not be overlooked at all. Racing suit must be bit tight however; a racing Cordura suit that is too tight may cut off circulation. Just make sure the required measurements taken for buying a suit should be taken and noted accurately. Various options may also include pockets, how perforated, and will it easily accept extra armor?

Protection offered by a Cordura riding suit is not a deniable fact. Cordura suits have fully removable Injection Molded Armor at knees, shoulders, and elbows. This armor is far superior compared to what other retailers’ offer. These suits also have removable dual thickness spine protector and fixed double density hip armor. Cordura stretch panels at lower back and above the knees Fixed Mesh lining Velcro's for attaching knee pucks are sewn on. Knee sliders are attached to the Cordura racing suits and come with the suit for free.

All features of the motorcycle Cordura suits are tested from the seams to the zippers to make sure high resistance for tearing, cuts, impact abrasion, and burst resistance. Armor for extra protection is inserted into the shoulder area, back, hips, knees and elbows. Leather is the most traditional form of motorbike clothing but even that has advanced in recent years.

Whatever riding suit you buy, it's important it be comfortable or you won't want to wear it. Riding suits are a must as all motorcyclists are aware of this fact. Whether buy one piece racing suit or a two piece motorcycle riding suit that is on the discretion of the biker.

Motorcycle Traveling Man

This is the first of a series of stories about Motorcycle rides and riding. Each story will take you on a wonderful journey as well as provide many road tips along the way.

To start the day I always check the weather forecast for conditions. It is important to make sure you have the proper Motorcycle Gear, Apparel and Accessories with you for each Motorcycle ride you take. On this day, Memorial Day, the forecast was for a wonderful weather day; partly cloudy, less than a 20% chance of rain and temperatures in the mid to high 70's. Anyone who has ridden much knows this is ideal weather to go out on your motorcycle. I will go out and not expect to hit rain with a forecast of 30% chance of rain or less. If I see a forecast that exceeds 30%, I will need to make sure to pack my Motorcycle Rain Gear, forego my ride for the day or just take my chances and get wet! It is so very important to make each and every ride you take as safe and enjoyable as possible. Checking the weather is just one step but you must also make sure your Motorcycle is all set and prepared to ride as well. Are your tires in good shape and properly inflated? Are all you vital engine and drive train fluids at proper levels? Is your Motorcycle running well and no performance issues? If you answered yes to each question above, then your Motorcycle is ready to ride!

For each ride I take on my Motorcycle I at least evaluate my time frame for the day. We all would like to live a life where time did not matter and the worry of the next day's events did not exist, but most of us do have other responsibilities and obligations to fulfill and live up to. So on this day it was decided the trip would need to end somewhere around the 6:00 pm time frame. The weather is a little cool this morning and it is overcast slightly. The trip start is delayed to about 10:30 am to allow for clearer skies. One more referral to the area maps and a travel route is determined.

Off we go! By "we" I mean myself and my lovely girlfriend. She loves to ride almost as much as I do! We embark and head West on Route 2 from Lunenburg Vermont. We travel through some rural areas to the city of Saint Johnsbury. We get to town just at the end of the Holiday parade. What GREAT timing! We did not have to sit and wait at all as the parade had just finished. We then proceed to West Danville and turn to Route 15. This takes us pat Joe's Pond, a wonderful little lake with great swimming, boating and fishing. We continue on Route 15 to Hardwick and pass through. There were no activities and few businesses were open for any shopping. We continue to Morrisville. On the way we stop at a fishing access on the Lamoille River. It was a great place to stop and have a little break. The river was nice and there were few if any bugs!

In Morrisville we turn off to Route 100 South. This takes us to Waitsfield Vermont. On the way we find another rest area near another little brook, yet another lovely stopping place. In Waitsfield we find a place for a late lunch as it is now almost 3:00 pm. We eat at a place that is a movie theater with a restaurant and bar as part of the operation! Later on in the season I want to find a movie playing there and go for a dinner and drinks while watching the movie. Sounds like it would be a lot of fun.

It is now late enough in the day for us to alter our original route so we can get home by our designated time. We take Route 100-B to Middlesex where we take Route 2 through Montpelier (the Capitol of Vermont) and back home to Lunenburg.

All-in-all, it was a very nice trip, stopped at a few places for eating, shopping and just for a rest. The weather was perfect and my Motorcycle performed flawlessly. Again my thanks to www.motorcycleleathervalue.com for all my Motorcycle Apparel, Accessories and Gear needed for a great ride!

The most damaging effect to leather is rain, and with the right motorcycle rain gear, you can help protect their Christmas gift and your investment for many years to come.

Try to keep the turns to a minimum, as you only have two wheels touching the ground, and a condition called hydroplaning can occur very much easier than in a passenger vehicle. Hydroplaning occurs when the water underneath a tire causes the tire to actually float on the water, causing the tire to loose traction and stability. Be sure to observe the amount of rain on the road, as even a couple of inches of rain can cause hydroplaning.

The best time to do this actually is after every rainy ride, or at least once a month.

Bike Week may be many things, but one thing it isn't is boring, with this year's event offering an array of experiences from the sublime to the ridiculous, the serene to the cerebral at numerous points throughout the Lakes Region, Seacoast and White Mountains.

The 87th rally roared off Saturday and will continue through Father's Day when, after a brief interlude, the Laconia Motorcycle Week Association begins planning for 2011.

Every day, Rally Headquarters, which is located at the Weirs Beach Water Slide on Route 3, opens at 8 a.m. and stays open until 9 p.m. This is the place to register with the American Motorcyclist Association Gypsy Tour and the place to buy official rally gear.

Rally HQ has guest books and maps of the U.S. and world where visitors are encouraged to place pins to denote their states or countries of origin. It's also a good jumping off point for walking around the epicenter of Bike Week — the area of Route 3 and Lakeside Avenue. There's plenty of good, private parking in The Weirs for bikes and four-wheeled vehicles, and bikes can park free on the avenue.

Two pay lots worth considering are at Endicott Rock Park, which is immediately north of the Weirs Channel Bridge, and at Weirs Community Park, just south of it. During Bike Week, both municipal lots are operated by local nonprofits, the Weirs Action Committee and Weirs Community Park Association, respectively, which raise money for improvement efforts in The Weirs and Laconia.

After you find a parking space, for a change of pace think about taking the Hobo Railroad, which runs regularly from Meredith to The Weirs and beginning Thursday, also from Lakeport; or the M/V Doris E. and the M/V Sophie C, which will do a shuttle service between the municipal docks in Meredith and The Weirs. Many vendors and venues also are available on Route 3 and Lakeside Avenue.

On Route 3, you will find the largest concentration of activity at the Weirs Beach Lobster Pound, whose Laconia Roadhouse is open daily. Next door is the Weirs Beach Drive-IN Theater, and next to that is the Wide Open Saloon, which, like the Naswa a short distance down the boulevard, features music daily.

I’ll add camping to the mix as well just for fun.

So, why a motorcycle? Why not a car? Why camping? They all relate to one another. It’s the same as why do people go backpacking/camping. Can’t you just drive to where you’re going? Why walk?

The little things are what makes travel on a bike different from a car. The subtle temperature differences as you go up and down rolling hills gets you connected to the environment around you. The sometimes unpleasant weather (not a problem if you’re geared up for it BTW) that makes the good times all the better. The 360-degree view of the world. The leaning into turns. Riding along looking over your windshield feels like you are flying over the road. On top of all that the very nature of a motorcycle forces you to be in the moment – it requires more attention to what you’re doing to make sure you stay safe. You don’t generally think of the random day-to-day issues while riding.

People always wonder about safety too. If you wear the right equipment then you’re a few steps ahead of the folks that ride around with shorts and a T-shirt. A good helmet is obviously a must. The rest of the gear is important too: armored riding suit, gloves and boots will go a long way of keeping you safe if the worst happens. Besides, it’s more comfortable riding when you’re not worried it might rain; a lot of the suits are waterproof as well!

The camping combined with the motorcycle forces you to figure out what you really need to take with you. It’s easy to camp with a Winnebago, you just cram all of your stuff in and hitch it up. On a bike (like backpacking) you need to limit yourself to what you need. On my bike I have roughly 120 liters of storage volume between the panniers, tank bag and other bags strapped to the bike. And that’s not counting any of the space in the passenger compartment (think of food, purses, drinks, anything) which adds over 2500 liters more space. When you need to jettison items and luxuries you can figure out what you need.

An interesting difference between motorcycle camping and backpacking is what’s the limiting factor. When you’re camping, every gram counts since you’re carrying it the whole way. On a bike the thing that always gets me is size. While small thing tend to be light, some of the biggest things I need are also light. A tent is only three pounds, but it takes up a lot of space. Same with sleeping bags. Those things would cause any problem when you’re backpacking, but on a bike they’re harder to fit on for some reason.

Camping: It adds a lot of extra gear that you need to carry with you. The tent, sleeping bags, stove and other various items. Sure, it’s more work, but then there’s waking up in a tent in the woods to the sunrise and brewing a cup of coffee and just taking in the world around you. It’s things like that that makes it all worth while.
