Motorcycle jackets for style or function?

While picking out a motorcycle jacket is partly a matter of style and personal preference, it’s a good idea to also pay attention to the protective features as well. Body protection in the vulnerable areas of the elbows, shoulders and back are important considerations along with abrasion resistance of the jacket material.

A denim jacket might look sharp, but unless it’s a model with kevlar reinforcements, it won’t offer much protection in the event of a spill. You’ll be much safer wearing leather or one of the many new abrasion resistant fabrics, and you’ll have a stylish appearance too!
